CSS - background design question?
How do I make a transparent background color into a translucent one in this style?

.left_column_wrapper,.left_column_wrapper .left_column_content { background-color:transparent; border-color:transparent; border:0px; }
I want to use the color white (code: #ffffff). However, I don't know how to write the styles to adjust its translucency or opacity.
Just started using CSS, so I don't know the basic nooks and crannies =). HEYLP!

couple of thing i'd like to say 1st:
1)you dont need border-color:transparent if you already have border:0px
2) {border:none! important} will do just fine to get rid of it
so to answer your question, use the code:
{filter:alpha(opacity=XX); height:100%}
where XX is a number. a lower number is more 'translucent'. do not remove height=100% or it wont work. there is a bad side to this as well. the opcatiy filter will also apply to everything inside the DIV but there is a work around to this by declaring {position:relative} to the tags inside the containing DIV. what this does is breaks the nested elements/objects from the filter. however, i have to add that in order for you to use positioning, you have to use an ascii bypass so it wont be filtered out.
